Annie was so happy to be invited to Rescue. She was still a young girl (probably not quite three years of age) but she was already pregnant. After being picked up as a stray and then joining Rescue, she soon gave birth to eight new members of her family. Annie is a mixed breed. Probably German Shepherd and according to her veterinarian, quite possibly Shar Pei. From looking a her puppies, we know there was more than one dad but she's not telling the full story! Anyway, Annie is now ready to move on in life (just as her puppies will shortly) and she's waiting for a family to love her forever. She's not a couch potato and will show some energy (especially when it comes to hunting anything that moves). Because of her prey drive, she would do best in a home without a cat. She loves other dogs. Annie also could be described as being determined to fulfill her wanderlust. If you leave her outside, she'll find something to do but it usually will be somewhere other than in her own yard! Even eight demanding puppies and the other dogs in her foster home couldn't keep her from her mission of finding out what was happening on the other side of the fence. The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100%25 tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.
