When we first asked about Pistachio upon his rescue from a Los Angeles county shelter, someone described him as "your typical small dog." There is nothing typical about little Pistachio unless you consider a calm and loving soul "typical"! Pistachio is small in stature (weighing about 12 pounds), but large in heart. At 5 years of age, he knows that his doe-eyed stare will bring people as kind as he into his realm and hopefully give him a forever home! Pistachio is currently enjoying the foster life, and his foster parents have nothing but great things to say about this pint-sized love bug. He has great house manners and is completely housetrained as well as crate trained. He doesnt bark at all, is great on a leash, loves treats, and loves to cuddle even more. This smart cookie also knows how to sit, shake, and lay down on command. Pistachio accepts the company of dogs of all sizes, and is never pushy or domineering. His foster siblings include a 40-pound dog (check Pistachio out stealing his big brothers bone!), and a 10-year old cat, so he would do well in a home with other furry friends. Although Pistachio can be a bit timid in new situations, he warms up quickly and will blossom into the cuddly little guy that he is in no time. His sweet and affectionate personality makes him a joy to be around. Pistachio should do great in almost any home environment, and his only requirement that he receive a lifelong home that will give him all the adventures, love, and companionship that he deserves.
