You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hushy Puppy came to us a year ago with her sister Wink. Both puppies were left-over from a backyard bred litter, and when the breeder couldn't sell Hushy and Wink, he was going to send them to the shelter. Luckily a neighbor heard of the puppies' plight and asked Labradors and Friends to take them in. Hushy and Wink went to a wonderful foster home. There the Itty Pitties ran and played and grew bigger and bigger. When the girls were 6months, Wink was adopted by a great family. Hush Puppy was very sad at first, but overtime she bonded to her foster sister, who is the same age, and who Hushy has been growing up with. Hush Puppy also loves her older big black Lab foster brother too. Hushy has been in her foster home for almost a year, but don't feel bad for her. She lives a better life than most, as her pictures will attest. After all of this time, Itty Bitty Hush Butty really isn't so itty anymore. She is built like a solid sack of cement and her petite body weighs in at 50+ lbs. Hush Puppy is the cutest little girl. She has a stunning blue/tan brindle coat and she has a white splash on her chest. Hush Puppy is a little shy and timid when she is by herself or in new surroundings, but at home with her pack she is a crazy nut, which is normal for an adolescent Pittie pup. Hushy will need a home with another dog who is either male, or a more submissive female, as she has separation anxiety when left on her own. She can be a bit bossy when she feels comfortable in her surroundings. Once she warms up, Hushy is friendly with people of all ages, and her foster mom actually trained her to be held like a baby. Hushy likes to go to the dog park and the beach, as long as there are no crazy dogs there. She likes the water, but she cannot swim (she is too solid and she will sink like a rock), so she needs a life vest on when around water. Because of this, Hushy cannot go to a home with an unfenced pool. Hushy loves toys, treats, and bones. She also likes to dress up in fashionwear...okay, maybe it's her foster mom who likes the fashionwear, but Hushie tolerates it well. Hushy likes to go for walks and hand out around town. However, Hushy does have some leash reactivity issues, so she cannot meet new dogs when on leash. Hush Puppy is crate trained and (mostly) potty trained, but when moved to a new home, she will need a little help learning a new routine. Hushy has completed a 5wk basic obedience training class with Pawtopia Training, and she is looking for a home that will continue with her obedience work. All pitties should be well trained and serve as ambassador for their breed. Hushy has two speeds, on or off. She is either pittie cray or super lazy. She is in the chewy stage, so it's recommended that she be crated when home alone, and be prepared to puppy proof the house. True to her breed, Hushy can be a little protective of her property. She will be the first one to alert you that someone is coming up the driveway. Because of her breed, only adopters who are home owners will be considered. Ideally, Hushy is looking for a family who is experienced with Bully breeds. Hush Puppy is the most adorable little staffie/pit girl who has captured the hearts of everyone in the rescue.
